GIMP 2.8 download is available for Windows, Linux and OS X. After 3.5 years of wait finally our favorite graphics editing software GIMP has released its new build v2.8 last week.
This Software comes with a whole list of new and enhanced features, which were much awaited by users.
The biggest point of attraction was Single Window Interface, which is much similar to the interface shown by ‘Photoshop’.
However after installation, still GIMP 2.8 opens with its default multi-window interface, but you can easily switch to single Window by clicking to Windows Menu> Single-Window Mode.
Single Window interface was much awaited improvement, as compared to other Graphics Editing software it has always been a disadvantage.
GIMP 2.8 has got many other improvements also such as dockable boxes and Layer Groups, it has also got improvements for graphic tablets users. Full feature list can be found in the Release Note of software.
However like any other software, this version is not free of bugs. Few bugs have been identified in the current release, but GIMP team is planning to release their next Generic Graphics Library based version 2.10 pretty soon this time, so we are expecting to get fixes with it.
GIMP 2.8 download is now available for Linux, Windows from its official site as well as for OS X Snow Leopard.
Full Documentation for version 2.8 has also been released, which you can check for learning the software.
